One of the best parts of being in advertising is that no two days are alike. My job is a blend of creativity, strategy, and adaptability, which means I get the chance to work with completely different clients on a regular basis. One day, I might be in a studio shooting delicious food, and the next, I could be out on the ocean filming safety videos. It’s unpredictable in the best way possible.
Take this past week as an example. I shot a fashion show at Ohio Stadium, filmed at a Senior Living Community, edited a video for a gallery opening, created collateral material about boating with life jackets and filmed myself working remotely in a beautiful cabin in Hocking Hills. Talk about variety! Every project brings new challenges, new environments, and a chance to stretch my creative muscles in different ways. How cool is that?
But what makes this job even more rewarding is the opportunity to take a deep dive into learning about each of these clients. Whether it's fashion, food, or safety, there's always something new to discover. Did you know that every single day 10,000 people turn 65 in the U.S.? Hence, the growing need for affordable, high-quality senior living options. Or how about the fact that most boating fatalities are preventable—if only more people wore life jackets, and did you know there's actually a place in Hocking Hills that has exceptional wi-fi and cellular service?
That’s one of the hidden gems of this job: I’m constantly learning. With every new client, I get the chance to immerse myself in their world, learn their story, and figure out how to tell it in a way that resonates with their audience. It’s that unique blend of learning and creativity that makes advertising such a rewarding and endlessly fascinating career. And I wouldn't trade it for anything.
